Joplin Origami Club
Established to continue and promote the ancient art of Origami.

Classroom Origami Demonstrations

Thirty minute, or one hour program:

Display: will include Origami books that are on the market. Also examples of several of the accepted forms of Origami (I.E traditional single sheet models, multi sheet compounds, and examples of modular Origami.)

Performance: A walk through the history and development of Origami through the centuries. An introduction to the symbols and patterns that are the basis of the art, and an introduction to some of the folding techniques that have taken years to master. Each student will be given a handout with paper and then will be taken through the steps to create a traditional char. Origami has existed for more than a thousand years, yet few ever get to see the beauty of the finished three dimensional models carefully crafted from a flat piece of paper. Email the club to set a time.
